Artist's Comments
Clock build by the Vostok factory for the Soviet navy and intended for use in one of their submarines. The clock weights about 6 pounds and is built like a tank both inside and out. It's got a 5-CHM Vostok movement inside, which has 12 jewels and an anchor escapement.
Took a while to find one of these that wasn't a reproduction. I left the key in the latch mechanism to show where the cover opens.
